Augusta Health ED Best Practices: EMS to Leave Room Before Patient Intubation

There has been a few instances recently where EMS will bring a patient in that almost immediately requires intubation. Augusta Health wants to be sure that all EMS providers are safe and protected so they are asking that providers not stay in the room during intubation. This is a high risk procedure and EMS doesn’t always have a N95 on. If you need to give further information regarding care, please go to the charge nurse to finalize report.
