Council Funding

CSEMS LogoCentral Shenandoah EMS Council relies on funding from several sources in order to operate.  Council funding is largely based upon the services offered by the CSEMS council and is received from the local governments, the Commonwealth and the EMS agencies comprising the council.

We contract directly with the Virginia Department of Health’s Virginia Office of EMS for those services provided to the region that fall within their statewide plan and role. Other funding comes from local governments that allow CSEMS to offer additional training opportunities within the region that are normally not available in other areas of the state. Additionally, the EMS agencies themselves provide additional funding support by donating to the Council’s Building a Stronger Future campaign which supports training staff functions so that regional training and equipment can be purchased and directly benefit all EMS providers in the region.
