COVID-19 – Virginia Office of EMS Taking Proactive Actions Supporting EMS Operations

Pursuant to Emergency Order 51, the Virginia Office of EMS is taking proactive actions to reduce the spread of COVID-19. The following actions will be taken to support EMS operations throughout the commonwealth:

PPE Supplies

  • PPE supplies are in high demand for EMS agencies and healthcare organizations. The Virginia Office of EMS is working with suppliers to obtain PPE supplies, and will notify agencies through the regional councils as more information becomes available. Some hospitals have suspended restocking of PPE and medical supplies to EMS agencies. As EMS agencies are aware of these directives, please notify CSEMS at so we can track demand and shortages. We will maintain contact with the main OEMS office to track these situations and respond with supplies accordingly when they are available. We have limited ability to support N95 mask fit testing by agency request. Please contact if you need assistance with testing providers.
