Heartsaver CPR Instructor Course

  • Current AHA HeartSaver First Aid/CPR/AED Card (copy of card must be submitted with application)
  • Proficient HeartSaver Provider Skills
  • Demonstrate Instructor Potential at an instructor potential skills session. You will be asked to demonstrate adult CPR/AED and infant CPR and take a written HS FA CPR exam.
    • Skills session dates will be held at CSEMS, email Laurie Cook to schedule an IP Session.
  • Alignment with an AHA Training Center
  • Completion of Essentials Course (access to the online course to be provided once registration is completed)
  • Complete the AHA Instructor Candidate Form (see link below) and submit to Laurie Cook

Registration closes Wednesday, September 7, 2022 at 12:00pm.

AHA HS FA CPR card, Instructor Candidate Application and proof of instructor potential must be received by 5:00pm on Wednesday, September 7, 2022 at 12:00pm to participate in the course and receive course materials.

Cancellation/ Refund Policy:

Registration is on a first come, first serve basis.  Cancellation fee of $75.00 will be charged to the participant.  No refunds will be issued to applicants withdrawing after Wednesday, September 7, 2022 at 12:00pm. There will be a $15 fee to transfer to another Heartsaver Course. There will no refund for no shows.

Course Materials:

Course materials are available from the Central Shenandoah EMS Office as registration forms are received and approved.  Materials required for the course include the HS Instructor Manual, HS Instructional DVD/USB, HS Provider Manual, and the HS Essentials Online Course.  Materials will be supplied to the candidate once registration has been submitted and all required documentation is received.

Special Needs:

The 1990 American Disabilities Act requires that all individuals, regardless of their disabilities, have equal access.  The Central Shenandoah EMS Council is pleased to assist participants with special needs.  Requests need to be made in writing at least 14 working days before the course.
