OEMS welcomes Larry Bird to the CSEMS Office as our Technical Resource Specialist!

Larry Bird is a Virginia Paramedic that has been the Clinical Team Leader for Carilion Life-Guard 12 out of Lexington, Va for the past twelve years. He is a Nationally Registered Paramedic and is a Certified Flight Paramedic through the International Board of Specialty Certification.

EMS and Technology Experience

Larry has been involved in Emergency Medical Services for over thirty years. As a veteran of the U.S. Navy, he has been associated with numerous services in North Carolina and Virginia. He is a current member of Millboro Area Rescue Squad and Hot Springs Rescue Squad. Larry also works at Washington and Lee University for Information Technology Services in their Integrative and Quantitative Center where he assists with 3d printers, laser cutter, and audio/visual rooms.


He received his Bachelor’s in Information Technology from Liberty University, Lynchburg, VA and an Associate’s Degree in Electronics from Craven Community College, New Bern, NC.

Personal Life

Larry lives in Bath County with his wife Patricia, and Ruby their dog. He enjoys home projects and living in a rural area that provides him a relaxed environment.

Personal Goals

He enjoys using technology to enhance the goals of providers, teaching others how they can use software to achieve their objectives more efficiently and effectively. Larry will be starting with the Office of EMS-Staunton (Central Shenandoah EMS) on January 25, 2021. He is looking forward to serving the area as our Technical Resource Specialist (Program Coordinator), and we are excited to have him join the regional team!
