CSEMS 2018 Fall Course Announcements

The Central Shenandoah EMS Council is pleased to announce three accredited Emergency Medical Technician programs commencing in August, 2018. An in-person traditional class as well as an online class will be held at the CSEMS Training Center in Staunton, VA. The third class, in partnership with Rockbridge County Fire-EMS, will be an in-person traditional class held in Buena Vista, VA. Information for each class is provided below:


2018 Fall Emergency Medical Technician – Traditional at Rockbridge County (18.5)

The Central Shenandoah EMS Council, in partnership with Rockbridge County Fire-EMS, will offer an accredited traditional Emergency Medical Technician program at the Rockbridge County Fire-EMS Administration Building in Buena Vista, Virginia starting on August 27, 2018 and concludes on January 16, 2019.  The program is designed to train an individual to function independently in a medical emergency. The course provides the basic knowledge and skills needed to deliver Basic Life Support (BLS) care and is required to progress to more advanced levels of prehospital patient care. This course meets Mondays and Wednesdays from 6:30 PM – 10:00 PM as well as 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM on the following Saturdays: September 15, October 27, and December 1.

 


2018 Fall Emergency Medical Technician – Traditional at CSEMS/Staunton (18.6)

The Central Shenandoah EMS Council will offer an accredited traditional Emergency Medical Technician program at its Training Center in Staunton, Virginia starting on August 28, 2018 and concludes on January 15, 2019.  The program is designed to train an individual to function independently in a medical emergency. The course provides the basic knowledge and skills needed to deliver Basic Life Support (BLS) care and is required to progress to more advanced levels of prehospital patient care. This course meets Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:00 PM – 10:00 PM as well as 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM on the following Saturdays: September 8, October 6, November 3, December 8, and January 12, 2019.

 


2018 Fall Online Emergency Medical Technician – Integrated Labs (18.7)

The Central Shenandoah EMS Council will offer an online EMT program with integrated labs held on Mondays from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM. The class commences with a mandatory orientation Webinar on Tuesday, August 28, 2018 at 6:00 PM. The Program concludes on December 10, 2018.  The program is designed to train an individual to function independently in a medical emergency. This course provides the basic knowledge and skills needed to deliver Basic Life Support (BLS) care and is required to progress to more advanced levels of prehospital patient care. The course requires participation in an online classroom, on-site hands-on skill training at our training center in Staunton, and a field internship. Virginia certification requires successful completion of a standardized cognitive and psychomotor skills examination. Click below for detailed information or to register.

CSEMS 2018 Summer Course Announcements

The Central Shenandoah EMS Council is offering two Emergency Medical Technician programs, one online version starting May 1st and one traditional version starting May 8th, 2018. Information for each class is provided below:


(18.3) – 2018 Summer Online Emergency Medical Technician (Integrated Labs) – The Central Shenandoah EMS Council will offer an online EMT program with integrated labs held on Mondays, starting on May 1, 2018 and concluding on August 13, 2018.  The program is designed to train an individual to function independently in a medical emergency. This course provides the basic knowledge and skills needed to deliver Basic Life Support (BLS) care and is required to progress to more advanced levels of prehospital patient care. The course requires participation in an online classroom, on-site hands-on skill training at the training center in Staunton and field internship. Virginia certification requires successful completion of a standardized cognitive and psychomotor skills examination. One section of the program is being offered which an “integrated lab” section where the onsite practical training is conducting throughout the program.


(18.4) – 2018 Summer Emergency Medical Technician – Traditional at CSEMS/Staunton – The Central Shenandoah EMS Council will offer a traditional Emergency Medical Technician program at its Training Center in Staunton, Virginia starting on May 8, 2018 and concluding in September 18, 2018.  The program is designed to train an individual to function independently in a medical emergency. The course provides the basic knowledge and skills needed to deliver Basic Life Support (BLS) care and is required to progress to more advanced levels of prehospital patient care. This course meets Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:00 PM – 10:00 PM as well as 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM on the following Saturdays: June 2nd and July 28th.

This course meets Mondays and Wednesdays from 6:00 PM – 10:00 PM as well as 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM on the following Saturdays: 1/20, 2/17, 3/17, 4/21.

This course provides the basic knowledge and skills needed to deliver Basic Life Support (BLS) care and is required to progress to more advanced levels of prehospital patient care. The course requires participation in an online classroom, on-site hands-on skill training at the training center in Staunton and field internship. This course provides the basic knowledge and skills needed to deliver Basic Life Support (BLS) care and is required to progress to more advanced levels of prehospital patient care. This course meets Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:00 PM – 10:00 PM on the Highland County High School campus.

**Effective July 1, 2016, Central Shenandoah EMS Council, Inc. will no longer advertise training and/or job announcements for for-profit entities on its website.  The Council will continue to post training announcements and job opportunities for non-profit 501(c)(3) EMS agencies in the region.  Requests from non-profit 501(c)(3) EMS agencies outside of the region will be handled on a case-by-case basis.
